Kingdom Perspective - Kingdom Freedom
As we approach our nation's Independence Day, our thoughts turn to the freedom we cherish. This Sunday, we explore a greater freedom—freedom in Christ. Reflecting on Jesus' powerful declaration in John 7, we'll examine how we can live in the reality of His promise of true freedom.
Our founding fathers understood that true liberty isn't just about political independence but also about living under God's guidance. John Adams said it best: "It is Christianity and its Moral path alone, which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand."
In a world longing for freedom from tyranny, oppression, and fear, we discover that real freedom comes through Christ. Ephesians 2:2-3 reminds us of the bondage of sin, but Romans 6:16-23 shows us the joyous freedom found in obedience to God. We'll discuss how freedom in Christ liberates us from:
Shame of the past
Guilt and condemnation
Unholy desires
Worldly pressures
Life's worries
Fear of not being good enough
Tyrannical dictatorships
Fear of man
True freedom is knowing our identity and purpose in Christ, no matter our circumstances. Jesus knew His purpose and walked in freedom, declaring in Luke 4:18-19 that He came to set the captives free.
As we celebrate our nation's freedom, let's embrace the authentic freedom found in Christ. Join us to experience and share this freedom that transcends all earthly limitations.
